Dear Mike:

Here is Kandel's second letter with the summary of the introductiory
material.  In my opinion, either or both would be appropriate, but considerations
of space are important.  Perhaps it would not cost too much to translate
both and print an abridged version of both.  Since the whole thing is
going to be published anyway, that probably wouldn't be offensive to Lem.
I think I have done my part in the matter now, and I suggest that you call
